Every year prior to the International Day of Femslash and FemSlashCon we need to contact femslash and femslash-friendly sites to ask their permission to advertise the event – between three and five posts over a four month period – and see if they’d be interested in becoming part of the project. Every year, the list of sites changes, as new fandoms, pairings and websites spring up, and others close their doors. So we need your help to make sure we have an up-to-date list of femslash groups to approach.
If you know of a site that’s not included below, please pop the details in a reply to this post, but keep in mind that the site needs to be for adult pairings. If you’re the owner or moderator of a femslash or femslash-friendly site – listed below or not – and would like to give us permission, please do, as it will save us a lot of time.
The rise of Tumblr and other such sites makes this kind of collective advertising more difficult, but if you’d like to be kept informed of IDF and FSC events through Tumblr or Facebook or Twitter you can always like or friend or whateveritscalled our accounts and help to spread the word that way.
If you’d like to be on the advertising committee for IDF/FSC – we’ve decided to have smaller groups, responsible for specific tasks, this year, rather than one big group, to save on confusion – please drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is your chance to submit a prompt – fanfic, fan-art or fan-vid – for your fellow femslashers, and hopefully see your prompt spark somebody else’s imagination.
Simply reply to this post with your prompt or prompts, including the following information:
All prompts will then be collected together on the giant Prompts Page and everyone will be free to use those prompts to create lots of lovely femslash (they might always want to check out the 2012 Prompts).
Over the weekend of IDF and FemSlashCon a post will be made to this site allowing people to send in the links to their challenge response(s) which will again be collected into a giant masterlist.
Prompt responses can be posted to anywhere that welcomes femslash, but are also very much welcome on the femslash_day livejournal.
ETA: No RPS/RPF, non-con, dub-con or under-age etc.
Now that 2013 is well and truly upon us we need to turn our attentions to preparing for this year’s International Day of Femslash and FemSlashCon’13.
One of the first things we will need are graphics, with which to advertise the event, and spread news of what’s happening to all four corners of cyber-space. So this is where you come in, at least those of you with a graphics-bent, because we need as many graphic submissions as possible, covering as many different fandoms and pairings as possible.
Graphics should include the title of the event: either ‘International Day of Femslash’ or ‘FemSlashCon’13’ and the date: 20th July, 2013 or 20-21st July, 2013, plus the url of this website.
There aren’t any set dymensions but as these are to be used on websites, journals, tumblr etc. they should be adequate for the task.
If you’ve posted a story, graphic or video for this year’s IDF pop the link, along with the fandom and pairing, into a reply to this post so that everyone can find it. All links will be added to an IDF Masterlist once the weekend is over and we have time to blink.

It’s that time, everyone. Time writers to make use of the last of the beta notes on your IDF 2012 Big Bang and prepare to turn it in. Time for artists to polish up your complements for the artists you were assigned to.
Turning in your final draft
All final drafts are to be emailed to internationaldayoffemslash[at]gmail[dot]com no later than 23:59 Pacific Daylight Time on 11th July 2012. This means the final copy of your story and artwork must be turned in by this date.
Once your final draft is turned in, ralst and ariestess will prepare your stories and artwork for inclusion in an International Day of Femslash 2012 site update at both Passion & Perfection and ShatterStorm Productions on 14th July 2012.
You will be able to post your stories and artwork wherever you prefer to post them as of 14th July 2012, but no sooner.
We will also post a masterlist on the femslash_day LJ comm of all of the Big Bang projects over the weekend. When that post goes live on 14th July 2012, please feel free to post your stories and artwork wherever you wish.
If you are participating in the IDF 2012 Big Bang and would like a complement, please head over here to submit your story summary information by 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Savings Time on 31 May 2012.
We will be posting all of the summaries anonymously for artists to select which project(s) they would like to create visual complements for.
If you’re an artist and want to participate in IDF 2012, please consider checking out the story summaries when they go live over on the femslash_day LJ comm on 1st June 2012. Also, if you know of any artists who may be interested in doing complements for these projects, please send them over to the femslash_day LJ comm on 1st June 2012 to start signing up for complements.
Voq Je Bang (VJB) will be holding an International Day of Femslash Round Robin in the weeks leading up to the 14th July, in celebration of both the community and the pairing of B’Elanna Torres and Seven of Nine from Star Trek’s Voyager. Official sign-ups will open approximately four weeks before IDF with the finished story scheduled for completion on the 14th July.
If the previous Round Robins are anything to go by, you are guaranteed a wild ride of a story that takes you places you’ve never been before. With permission, the finished story will be available to read via the IDF website once the dust has settled and the ladies have been given their happily ever after.
It is that time of year once more when every young, and not so young, femslasher’s mind drifts towards thoughts of summer and the International Day of Femslash. Whether you’re a seasoned professional, with a couple of conventions and a … Continue reading →
As part of this year’s International Day of Femslash we are looking to recruit a team of people interested in creating a smallscale ARG to run over the weekend prior to IDF (date to be confirmed). Whether you’re a seasoned ARG-pro – like our team leader – or a total newbie – like me – we need your help. We have just over four months to create this little endeavour and that means getting started right away, with a view to running an even bigger event next year once we’ve built up a little experience and discovered just how much fun it can be.
