The Devil Wears Prada

Gin Akasarahsmom: Welcome to Day Two of Femslashcon 2012

beachbum3668: Hi gun!

beachbum3668: Just finished Silver and sapphires…great read1

brithna: amen to that

jazwriter: very cool Gun

quietheartedfsc: good lord, ya’ll have tipped my monitor to one side…there’s twice as many in here as the other rooms…

redheadgrrl1960: oh – thank you so much

Gin Akasarahsmom: Panelists please change your font to red…

quietheartedfsc: hey, Gun…so good to see you here

jazwriter: oh, is that chilly, I see??

chilly-flame: hi everyone. it’s nice to be here! yes, it’s me jaz!

Gin Akasarahsmom: if you have a question raise your hand so it won’t get lost in the shuffle of chat.. yeah?

jazwriter: woot!

Gin Akasarahsmom: There are many many great writers here… and I bow to the masters…

Gin Akasarahsmom: so lets get on with it eh?

Ravenfairy11: Gin you are a master!

quietheartedfsc: please raise your hands if you have questions…large group in here

Gin Akasarahsmom: panelist.. should introduce themselves… like they need introductions

BetweenLove_n_Hate: I second Ravenfairy11 on that one

beachbum3668: I’m BeachBum

beachbum3668: And Gin is in a class by herself

chilly-flame: Chilly-flame, here.

Gin Akasarahsmom: pfft

Ravenfairy11: Fangirl Squee!

Alkmaion: hello

beachbum3668: There she goes again…

Gin Akasarahsmom: hello to everyone just joining us..

raiderl_1: Hey guys! won’t be staying long, we have guests for lunch

quietheartedfsc: quiethearted, but covering something else as the same time.

brithna: hi raider

Gin Akasarahsmom: awww… sorry raider

redheadgrrl1960: I’m sort of a panellist – unofficially official

redheadgrrl1960: Gun Brooke!

brithna: hi unofficial

Gin Akasarahsmom: hehehe… Hiya Gun *bows to the master of masters*

Ravenfairy11: Gun woohoo

Gin Akasarahsmom: so.. does anyone have any questions for the panelists… before this degenerates into a free for all

jazwriter: oops! what did I miss?!

Gin Akasarahsmom: EVERYTHING!!

Gin Akasarahsmom: Meryl and Anne were here

jazwriter: lol

Gin Akasarahsmom: it was awesome!

Gin Akasarahsmom: 😛

jazwriter: dammit!

redheadgrrl1960: LOL

brithna: what?????

quietheartedfsc: lol

Gin Akasarahsmom: hehehe

brithna: dont do that to my heart please

Ravenfairy11: damn i hate when Gin does that lol

Gin Akasarahsmom: sigh.. only in my head

quietheartedfsc: today, I’d believe anything…

jazwriter: did they mention how they love our stories?

BetweenLove_n_Hate: lol teasing the fangirls is not something you should do, epsecially today.

Gin Akasarahsmom: anyway…. Questions? BetweenLove… you have one?

beachbum3668: First of all, I’d like to thank Gun for writing DWP. Now all the rabid Voyager fans who accused me of treason will have somebody else to send nastygrams to, LOL

Gin Akasarahsmom: hehehe… it’s nice to have a scapegoat eh BB?

Ravenfairy11: Treason they wouldn’t dare.

BetweenLove_n_Hate: yes, ma’am I do. To all you lovely panelists who moonlight as some of my favortie authors, do any of you have projects in the works?

beachbum3668: a FELLOW scapegoat thank you very much

jazwriter: well, BB, it’s your fault I left VOyager fic and turned to DWP

redheadgrrl1960: LOL, Beach! Actually – I had some fun emails of a kind nature when I did the cross over and placed Miranda and Andy in the future with Janeway and SEven.

Gin Akasarahsmom: ohhh… projects in the works… BB? Gun?

Gin Akasarahsmom: Chilly?

beachbum3668: I’m just trying to finish the pending chapter updates for JIGSAW and Decisions and Destiny

BetweenLove_n_Hate: well future chapters of JIGSAW would be epic.

chilly-flame: Alas, mine projects are with a couple of other ladies… I think I ran out of stories to tell with Andy and Miranda!

chilly-flame: I counted my catalogue one day recently and it was something like 35!

redheadgrrl1960: I’m actually plotting an "homage" story to Colleen McCullough (sp?) story "Tim" – Mirandy style. It’s so hard though, so I need to be very careful.

Ravenfairy11: we still love you chilly

jazwriter: Punky and I are collaborating on a Melenacious prompt for DWP

BetweenLove_n_Hate: that’s such a sad thing to hear. hope one day that muse come back, Chilly.

Gin Akasarahsmom: Xraex21…. is next…

brithna: I’m very excited to read that story G…very excited

xraex21: The Devil Wears Prada breaks the mold when it comes to the number of fics written for a movie…what is it about them that makes their story so compelling to tell?

beachbum3668: You have a separate folder all your own in my "favorites section" of my hard drive, chilly

BetweenLove_n_Hate: but yes, those stories are excellent to re-read over and over.

chilly-flame: what a huge compliment beachbum!

redheadgrrl1960: I have reread chilly’s stories at least twice, some of them more than that.

beachbum3668: Me too.

BetweenLove_n_Hate: lol me too.

Gin Akasarahsmom: Xraex.. I think it’s because the ‘type’ is so familiar… older/younger, teacher/student…

Gin Akasarahsmom: that sort of story has been around forever and captures a lot of people’s hearts… who hasn’t had a crush on a teacher… boss.. etc

beachbum3668: I think the story is so compelling because of a couple of things. First of all, the characters as portrayed by Meryl and Anne were breath-taking. and secondly, the scene in which the story is set: New York, Fashion, high society…there’s tons of things to write about

chilly-flame: I think it’s because despite the familiarity with the roles, miranda is someone really unique in film. she is older, she has power, she has elegance–she is large and in charge, but she does reveal true vulnerability to one person. And that vulnerability changes the game.

pantone462: Hi, everyone!

Gin Akasarahsmom: welcome Pantone

Ravenfairy11: hey pantone

chilly-flame: pantone!!

jazwriter: hello Pantone

pantone462: Hi, all! Chilly!!!

beachbum3668: We can thank Meryl personally for that glimpse of vulnerability

Ravenfairy11: true

beachbum3668: that was all her

chilly-flame: so fun to see you here

Gin Akasarahsmom: yes… she’s awesome that way…

redheadgrrl1960: Chilly, you really nailed it with that explanation. I totally agree.

Gin Akasarahsmom: knowing the characters she plays

redheadgrrl1960: hi pantone!

BetweenLove_n_Hate: Did anyone else feel gipped that she didn’t win for DWP? and die laughing at the skit with Anne and Emily?

pantone462: Yay, lots of familiar names, but I’ll shut up now and read what I missed

beachbum3668: I always feel gypped t

xraex21: that skit was perfect

chilly-flame: i think the material was too light. i’m just grateful it got meryl back in the game

chilly-flame: because without that, so many other things wouldn’t have happened for her. i really believe that.

beachbum3668: I always feel gypped when Meryl doesn’t win. I fully support Sandra Bullock’s idea.

Gin Akasarahsmom: yes.. I think she should have won every award she was nominated for

chilly-flame: who won that year?

BetweenLove_n_Hate: What is Sandra Bullock’s idea?

redheadgrrl1960: It is always harder for comedies to gain recognition, which is strange, since good comedy is among the hardest thing there is to do well.

Gin Akasarahsmom: Meryl should automatically get the award.. then the second person gets an award too… right?

beachbum3668: Sandra says that whenever Meryp is nominated she automatically wins for Best Actress and then they let the rest of the field fight it out for 2nd place

redheadgrrl1960: LOL

Gin Akasarahsmom: right

sinadino77: neat

beachbum3668: I think its the perfect solution

xraex21: was this idea before or after she kissed her

Ravenfairy11: Helen Mirren won for The Queen by the way.

sinadino77: lmao

beachbum3668: Now don’t get me started on how I felt when she lost out for Julie and Julia!

BetweenLove_n_Hate: LOl….ah, well yes I kind of like that idea as well.

beachbum3668: BEFORE xraex

chilly-flame: thanks raven

xraex21: WELL THERE YOU GO. she’s a fellow fangirl living the dream

beachbum3668: ican ionly imagein what she’d offer Meryl AFTER that kiss

Gin Akasarahsmom: lol

BetweenLove_n_Hate: Have they ever been in a movie together? Lol they should be now.

Alkmaion: back again * sigh*

Gin Akasarahsmom: before.. after…. Meryl can have anything she wants

Gin Akasarahsmom: so… anyway… DWP…

sinadino77: cheesecubes anyone?

Ravenfairy11: no suprisingly she hasn’t been in a movie with a lot of great actresses.

redheadgrrl1960: As for Annie Hathaway – I’ve played the trailer to Les Mis so many times, Elon thinks my new computer is broken.

Gin Akasarahsmom: LOL

Ravenfairy11: aww

beachbum3668: For what its worth, DWP was Meryl’s highest grossing film (to that date) and gave her the record for most Oscar nominations

beachbum3668: and chilly is right: it brought her right back into the spotlight,

BetweenLove_n_Hate: did it? Then Mamma Mia broke that right?

Gin Akasarahsmom: Who will go see the next one… after whatshername writes the sequel and they make it into a movie?

redheadgrrl1960: Meryl is sort a Hollywood mold-breaker, being her age, and lining up so many box office hits.

beachbum3668: Correct, Mamma Mia broke that record for her

chilly-flame: i have to say that i am not interested in a sequel. i feel like we’ve all written the sequel, and it will never measure up.

Ravenfairy11: I so want to watch the sequel .but it has a lot to live up to.

Ravenfairy11: exactly

Gin Akasarahsmom: true…

redheadgrrl1960: Agree with chilly

pantone462: Nope, no sequel for me either

beachbum3668: right on chilly! Too bad they aren’t consulting any of us for the storyboards1

chilly-flame: but, eh. meryl will do it, and if they can get anne into it, maybe. as long as they adapt the book the way they did the first. because i could NOT read the book.

sinadino77: that sequel is bound to be a disappointment

jazwriter: I agree with chilly–so unless they are hiring some of our great writers from DWP fanfic, forget it

Gin Akasarahsmom: I have never read the book

redheadgrrl1960: I havent read the book either.

pantone462: Oh m< god the book was atrocious

BetweenLove_n_Hate: I tried reading it, I couldn’t get through it.

chilly-flame: i found the first book’s andy sooooo annoying that i didn’t finish.

Gin Akasarahsmom: LOL

sinadino77: the german translation was quite boring…

shesgottaread: I only read maybe 6 pgs of the book and had to toss it

brithna: im not interested in a sequel either. the book and movie is already so far apart..if they do the second…it will just be worse..and like chilly said…we’ve all already written the second

beachbum3668: I went back and re-read it after I saw the movie and it was a huge disappointment. the film characters were SO much better

Gin Akasarahsmom: that was what I was told Chilly.. so I never bothered

redheadgrrl1960: I agree Brithna!

chilly-flame: don’t waste your time. crap source material that was massaged into something really good on screen.

sinadino77: especially the like sereies…

brithna: as someone just said i read a few pages and tossed it into the corner

pantone462: I applaud the director and Meryl and anyone else for seeing the possibilities for a good movie in such a horrible book material

Gin Akasarahsmom: LOL… thank you Sina

Ravenfairy11: right Sina

beachbum3668: The screenwriter deserved an Oscar for the job she did

brithna: amen to that…talk about a lot to work with

shesgottaread: totes agree, Beach

pantone462: true

jazwriter: hi raider

Ravenfairy11: agree

brithna: or a lot to turn into something

beachbum3668: Can i ask a question?

Gin Akasarahsmom: sure

beachbum3668: Is that allowed?

brithna: lol

Gin Akasarahsmom: yepper

Gin Akasarahsmom: I’ll allow it

Gin Akasarahsmom: 😛

beachbum3668: I’d be interested on what everybody thinks is the reason the film was so good: was it the casting or the wcreenplahy? Would DWP have been as good with a different cast?

Gin Akasarahsmom: casting…

Gin Akasarahsmom: it would have sucked without Meryl

Gin Akasarahsmom: or Anne

brithna: id say casting…on-screen chem between them

Gin Akasarahsmom: or Emily for that matter

sinadino77: yup

beachbum3668: ROFLMAO

chilly-flame: agree. anne was lovely and exactly right for andy, but miranda needed meryl.

beachbum3668: Or Stanley

sinadino77: gotta love em

beachbum3668: tucci was gold as Nigel

Gin Akasarahsmom: and Stanlly Tucci was brilliant as Nigel

redheadgrrl1960: Casting – first Meryl, she carried the movie, and then the dynamic between the four people (M, A, E and N)

BetweenLove_n_Hate: I think it had to do with both. It had the perfect balance of both so it was as good as it was. There was good writing and even better chemistry between the cast. Without that combination it wouldn’t have been as good

shesgottaread: Stanley doesn’t get enough love

Ravenfairy11: Love Stanley

Gin Akasarahsmom: I adore Stanley Tucci

Gin Akasarahsmom: He’s great in anything he does

sinadino77: didn’t he say in an interview that his wife was worried as how comfortable he seemed to be in the "gay role"?

BetweenLove_n_Hate: I squee everytime I see Stanley Tucci in a movie.

BetweenLove_n_Hate: lol even in the Hunger Games

pantone462: lol

beachbum3668: I fell in love with him when he played the bad guy in Murder One

Gin Akasarahsmom: yep.. he was good in Hunger Games

beachbum3668: He still had hair back then

Ravenfairy11: I think it’s kinda cute how they are all connected in some way now, what with Stanley engaged to EMily’s older sister, Anne and Meryl were at Emily’s wedding. so cute

brithna: and to know he hardly had time to ‘prepare’ for nigel….fab job

Gin Akasarahsmom: I loved the chemistry he and Meryl had in Julie/Julia

beachbum3668: they all became close friends on DWP. that shows how much chemistry there really was

sinadino77: that movie with kathleen turner and dennis quaid (blues something…) where he played that….unsucessful robbefr…. "Muerte" or something like that…

Gin Akasarahsmom: never seen that one

beachbum3668: MORTY!

sinadino77: yeah

beachbum3668: Uncercover Blues

sinadino77: poor Muerte

redheadgrrl1960: And he played super creepy child killer in a movie recently…forget the title…

beachbum3668: love it love it love it!

BetweenLove_n_Hate: Lovely Bones

sinadino77: #g

beachbum3668: Lets face it, everybody in DWP has acting chops

sinadino77: lol

redheadgrrl1960: true

Gin Akasarahsmom: that was a plus for the movie for sure

Alkmaion: DWP kinda was a serious Zoolander for me *g*

BetweenLove_n_Hate: Yes they do. I wish Emily was in more though.

sinadino77: yeah…

Gin Akasarahsmom: Emily is a tough character to ‘get’

redheadgrrl1960: Would have loved to see more of Serena/Emily in the movie.

beachbum3668: I remember that the director even thought Giselle Bundchen did a great job with her part

Gin Akasarahsmom: I find writing her very difficult

BetweenLove_n_Hate: You do? She was a great addition to the Like series!

Gin Akasarahsmom: Are there any characters you find difficult writing?

redheadgrrl1960: Its very easy to fall into the trap of making Emily into a british caricature somehow

beachbum3668: I find her dialog to be difficult. Part of me wants her to be fully ‘americanized’ in her voice and another wants her to still be Brazilian

Gin Akasarahsmom: thanks Between.. I’m glad you liked it

sinadino77: I hand my muse some cheese cubes and then she hels me with writing em

BetweenLove_n_Hate: oh no, I LOVED it. BIG difference.

Gin Akasarahsmom: LOL…

Gin Akasarahsmom: BB… you want emily to be Brazilian?

quietheartedfsc: Emily is hardest for me. She’s either on or she’s off…her voice is hardest.

beachbum3668: No, I was talking about Serena

Gin Akasarahsmom: rofl.. ah

jazwriter: I think she meant Serena, QH

jazwriter: lol

chilly-flame: i never did well with stephen. and emily is a challenge because she is so sharp and brilliantly funny.

sinadino77: Irv… I have trouble writing Irv…. because I dislike him so much that I don’t want to get too close to him….

beachbum3668: Its hard to get the correct degree of snarkiness into Emily but not go overboard

Gin Akasarahsmom: It was easier for me to write Emily after I went to London and met XV… hearing the London accents helped…

jazwriter: I have trouble with Lily

redheadgrrl1960: Last time I wrote Stephen I had Andrea through a glass paperweight orb at him and knock him out cold.

beachbum3668: LOL…I just basically ignore Lily

pantone462: Emily… I love Emily. I don’t think I ever wrote Stephan…

Gin Akasarahsmom: and I asked her hundreds of questions… "What would an English person say when…"

sinadino77: g

beachbum3668: I figure when she told Andy to kiss off she lost her right to be included

jazwriter: Doug seems affable, but it’s haarder to figure Lily out…particularly since they were friends for so long

shesgottaread: and why not, Beach. She’s only got a couple of lines, and aren’t we kind of cutting off possibilities by forcing GB’s heritage on Serena?

Gin Akasarahsmom: nice Gun… I liked that one

quietheartedfsc: XV gave me a list of appropriate Britishisms for Emily’s region of London long ago…it’s helped greatly

shesgottaread: Needs to be more Lily in DWP fic.

Gin Akasarahsmom: I always make Serena Brazilian…

beachbum3668: I disagree

sinadino77: gin!#

beachbum3668: lily is ancillary and can easily be ignored

beachbum3668: And I like Serena Brazilian

beachbum3668: whether or not it’s forcing Gb’s heritage on her

BetweenLove_n_Hate: I like stories that have Lily but others that don’t. Though i adore Doug.

sinadino77: you can’t say something like that when I’m around….especially when I’m drinking something close to the keyboard

beachbum3668: Yep, dougie’s my go-to guy

redheadgrrl1960: I read a story recently that described Stephen as quite reasonable… might be Writtensword’s "White Queen falls" …

jazwriter: but BB, they are Ady’s closest friends and support system in NY, so when she and Nate break up, I feel like they have to be dealt with in some way

Gin Akasarahsmom: *shrug*… I didn’t say I like Serena’S Brazilian…. get your mind out of the gutter

beachbum3668: But look at nhow Lily treated Andy at the gallery oopening

BetweenLove_n_Hate: true, but friends fight all the time.

beachbum3668: lily totally took Nate’s side

sinadino77: I live there… I can’t get it out

shesgottaread: Friends have spats, and Lily’s her oldest friend.

BetweenLove_n_Hate: and even though I dispise how she picked Nate over Andy she didn’t agree with what her friend was doing adn spoke up about it.

Gin Akasarahsmom: According to the movie Stephen was NOT reasonable… he was an idiot who complained about having to wait for Miranda, who was WORKING… that’s not supportive or reasonable at all

brithna: Red–it was white queen falls…i enjoyed that new look at Stephen

beachbum3668: Let’s face it folks…we NEED Stephen and Irv to bash

brithna: lol

Gin Akasarahsmom: it was the attitude Andy’s friends had toward her job that always got me

beachbum3668: Voyager has Palnk-boy….we’ve got Stephen and Irv

shesgottaread: and Christian

redheadgrrl1960: I did too Brithna – that’s the fun part of fan fic – we can choose to write the characters – especially the side characters – a bit OOC from the movie -verse…and explore.

jazwriter: yes, I love bashing Christian

Gin Akasarahsmom: they were like… Quit.. quit.. quit… and it was her JOB!… she had a hard enough time getting that one…

brithna: 10-4

BetweenLove_n_Hate: I actually would love to see a story where Christian is a nice guy.

brithna: ive read one recently

beachbum3668: Why?

Gin Akasarahsmom: I think I redeemed Christan somewhat in my stories

BetweenLove_n_Hate: you did.

Gin Akasarahsmom: Nate too for that matter

beachbum3668: He’s so deliciously slimey…just made to be a sleazeball

Ravenfairy11: Christian can suck it

brithna: can’t remember the name…well he wasn’t NICE but he was a okay guy in the end

jazwriter: mmm, don’t know that I ever wrote a lovable Christian

BetweenLove_n_Hate: And I’d like to see him be a good guy because I think he’d make a good friend to Andy. Nothing more. But there was a story where he was basically her wing man.

beachbum3668: I haven’t

brithna: i dont think i could…maybe…don’t know

Gin Akasarahsmom: not lovable… but somewhat redeemed in the end

BetweenLove_n_Hate: and I loved it

brithna: yes that would be good

jazwriter: I can’t redeem Nateeither–he’s too immature

redheadgrrl1960: I really like the actor that played Christian – so, taken that into consideration, I might be able to write him more amicable.

pantone462: I didn’t write Christian either. Or Nate. Now that I think about it my stories a more or less two people. Max.

beachbum3668: not to mention hairy

BetweenLove_n_Hate: someone did. Lol when she got kicked out of her apartment that she shared with Nate she moved in with him and they just got along really well and it was nice.

brithna: that’s my issue with nate as well…immature

beachbum3668: hairy

Ravenfairy11: immature and hairy

Gin Akasarahsmom: I grew him up a bit in mine

Gin Akasarahsmom: he turned out to be okay

Gin Akasarahsmom: lol

BetweenLove_n_Hate: LOVED him in yours

BetweenLove_n_Hate: even though he did kiss before thinking

jazwriter: I have more faith in Lily than in Nate for maturing

Gin Akasarahsmom: LOL… well… wouldn’t you??

BetweenLove_n_Hate: he really ended up being the stand up guy she always thought of him as

redheadgrrl1960: When they all complained how much Andy had to work, and the calls she had to take – they were being biased – they obviously didnt consider that at an entry level at any job, you do the dog-years.

Gin Akasarahsmom: that always killed me Gun… it’s a terrible attitude

redheadgrrl1960: it sure is

jazwriter: they worked 9-5 jobs and couldn’t understand

shesgottaread: but their entry-level jobs didn’t involve answering calls 12-24hrs a day

Gin Akasarahsmom: like he didn’t work all hours at his chef jobs

beachbum3668: Frankly, I gave up on Nate with his first crack when Andy got the job "A Fashion magazine?? Was it a phone interview?"

jazwriter: but Nate was upset that Andy wasn’t available when he was

redheadgrrl1960: I also felt that the ending of the movie was such a cop out and totally against Andy’s character. Two reasons, the whole tossing the phone with a broad smile…and then taking the FULL blame when meeting up with Nate… arghhhhh…

Gin Akasarahsmom: right… like a baby Jazzy

pantone462: I find twins awfully difficult to write

BetweenLove_n_Hate: the only person I thought that could possibly understand Andy’s job was Lily and she’s the loudest objector. Like how many hours would she have to put in overtime to fix up her gallary?

beachbum3668: The twins are easy…just write a 40 year old and put it in an 11 year old’s body

Gin Akasarahsmom: I’m not sure she was to blame…. she just acknowledged that she had changed.. like Nate said she had… she didn’t say it was a bad change..

Gin Akasarahsmom: the twins are fairly easy for me… since I have an 11 year old

jazwriter: I doubt she owned the gallery, though, Between

redheadgrrl1960: She did apologize for that change though, Gin.

pantone462: It’s just… they feel either too old or too young when I try

shesgottaread: well, what if Andy had been somewhat dismissive of her "art-thing"? I think that could have sparked some of the "you thought …… is haute coutore"

chilly-flame: i like to write the twins, pantone, but I find the age a challenge. how to not make them too smart or too advanced for their age. unfair advantage, gin!

BetweenLove_n_Hate: true, but she’d be working long hours there for showings even if she didn’t.

Gin Akasarahsmom: eh… I guess… but she stayed in New York.. and didn’t go to Boston with him

jazwriter: I have a 12 year old–so not so hard for me to write the twins

pantone462: exactly!

beachbum3668: I’ve never had a problem with the twins

pantone462: I’ll have to obseve some friends’ kids a bit

Gin Akasarahsmom: they can be slightly more mature than most for their age…

Gin Akasarahsmom: they are Miranda’s daughters after all

redheadgrrl1960: Pantone – I second that. Kids are hard to write. I find it easy to fall into the trap of making them sound …oh god what’s that word – wise for their years… precau-something. *scratching head*

beachbum3668: Of course I don’t have kids of my own and i don’t know how well I’ve managed it, but nobody seems to be objecting

sinadino77: as long aws you aren’t the assistant delivering the book you don’t have trouble with the twins….

Gin Akasarahsmom: precocious

beachbum3668: But they ARE precocious

redheadgrrl1960: thank you Gin

Gin Akasarahsmom: yes.. they are

jazwriter: and they seem very intelligent

Gin Akasarahsmom: ad I said.. Miranda’s children

beachbum3668: They’re every bit the brats they’re made out to be…just with a heart of gold once you dig deep enough

jazwriter: and wily

pantone462: Oh well I just pretend they are at their father’s

redheadgrrl1960: I dunno – I feel transported to an American sitcome from the seventies sometimes when I write them.

Gin Akasarahsmom: Wee Demons

jazwriter: lol pantone!

BetweenLove_n_Hate: Speking of the twins: Do you like stories that do not invovle the twins? Or would you rather see them involved in the story and in the growing relationship between Miranda and Andy?

Gin Akasarahsmom: I always like them involved… it’s their life too

beachbum3668: I want to see them involved. They mean the world to Miranda and would be a part of any decisions she made about Andy

shesgottaread: like longer stories, so feel that needs to have the twins

jazwriter: I prefer to write them older, though–lol

pantone462: Between, it depends on story for me

chilly-flame: lol those kids do spend a lot of time at sleepovers and at dads!

shesgottaread: although, have read good, long stories that didn’t really include them, focusing on Andy/Miranda

redheadgrrl1960: I write them into longer stories as well. I am fortunate to have granddaughters that age…

pantone462: If it’s about beginning the relationship, nah

chilly-flame: i think i split it. they’re very involved in some, central in a few, and totally absent in others.

Gin Akasarahsmom: they are at an age where that would be true chilly… Sarah is gone quite often playing at other people’s houses…

pantone462: chilly, right. Isn’t that the truth

Gin Akasarahsmom: with the divorce they would be at their father’s for some things…

beachbum3668: The twins can be a great tool: Miranda can be blinded by her work and the twins tend to provide a reality-check for her

brithna: 10-4

chilly-flame: yep. but i always knew when i had to "go there" those kids were going to be outta the house!

shesgottaread: "Ms. Priestly, we’d like to know why your daughters have spent over 100 nights this year at sleepovers" asked the social worker

redheadgrrl1960: They call her on things to, with such honesty…it is a way to make MIranda stop and think.

chilly-flame: like, the dining room table must be available for sex. no kids allowed.

jazwriter: don’t bore me with your questions

beachbum3668: yep: reality check

Gin Akasarahsmom: yes… from the mouths of babes..

pantone462: if you put all the fanfic and count the weekends at their dad’s, they’ve spent there some 75 years already

chilly-flame: lol

BetweenLove_n_Hate: (nods) I personally enjoy stories that invovle them because they are so intregal to Miranda’s character in a way.

Ravenfairy11: lol

brithna: LOL

beachbum3668: too true, LOL

redheadgrrl1960: pantone – LOL

Gin Akasarahsmom: I like that they spend time with their father though… so many divorced kids don’t get to do that

brithna: im cracking up…lol

brithna: that is so true

Gin Akasarahsmom: it shows that he is a good dad

beachbum3668: They’re also convenient as a means to re-introduce Andy and Miranda

Ravenfairy11: yes BB

Gin Akasarahsmom: yes

Ravenfairy11: i think it helps tie Andy to Miranda more, because they are her only real weakness per say

BetweenLove_n_Hate: Lol YES! I love stories that use them as the means to get Mirandy back together after a long time.

Gin Akasarahsmom: when they tell their mom point blank… "You date her.. or I will!"

beachbum3668: When stuck or abandoned by your muse have Andy run into the twins in the Park

BetweenLove_n_Hate: LOL well that certianly works, Gin.

Gin Akasarahsmom: hehehe

Gin Akasarahsmom: that’s what Cassidy did in Into the Fire

BetweenLove_n_Hate: my idea for IDF was for Roy to actually run into Andy on the way to work.

Gin Akasarahsmom: actually run into her… like.. with the car?

redheadgrrl1960: Then there is the DOG. I find it amuzing when Patricia is involved. I’m such a doglover, it’s almost embarrassing.

beachbum3668: jazzy had Caroline do it in the Wrong Choice

wolvie_dk: also they can help illustrate Miranda’s growth as a person

wolvie_dk: i’m back btw

pantone462: lol, my first thought as well Gin

beachbum3668: I LOVE Patricia

jazwriter: there are so many DWP stories now that it is challenge to find a way to get them to cross paths…the kids give more possibilities

BetweenLove_n_Hate: lol yeah….

Ravenfairy11: lol oh broken leg emily style

Gin Akasarahsmom: hehehe

beachbum3668: And I really love the idea of miranda being a dog lover

jazwriter: thaat was QH, BB

damelola: (hey all) I love when Patricia gets a cameo in a story

beachbum3668: all High fashion with a st bernard drooling on her Jimmy Choos

redheadgrrl1960: and for her not to have a Paris Hilton dog – but a huge slobbery ST B.

beachbum3668: OOPS *blushing furiously*

Gin Akasarahsmom: Ah… It killed me to have to kill off Patricia in Lucky Girls

beachbum3668: Mea cupla QH!!!

Gin Akasarahsmom: but too much time had passed

redheadgrrl1960: But Taymor is so sweet

beachbum3668: Well, they had Taymor!

Gin Akasarahsmom: LOL… yeah… I had to make up for it with Taymor

sinadino77: *pets Tay*

jazwriter: she’s not here, BB — ssshhhhh

quietheartedfsc: sokay, BB…jazz and are in interchangablb

Ravenfairy11: shut the front door jazzy your stories are awesome too

quietheartedfsc: since you beta them all….they’re as much yours as mine anyway, jazzy

BetweenLove_n_Hate: So, can I ask a question to everyone (again)?

Gin Akasarahsmom: yep

chilly-flame: sure!

jazwriter: lol Raven

Gin Akasarahsmom: go ahead

beachbum3668: I hereby formally apologize and promise to slit my writst as soon as the next panel is finished

redheadgrrl1960: Question! Do you remember which story or author that got you hooked on DWP fan fic?

beachbum3668: That’s easy…Truth and Measure

pantone462: Oh jeez that was ages ago

Gin Akasarahsmom: Yepper… ‘tas Chilly_Flame

shesgottaread: Chilly’s Small Favors

BetweenLove_n_Hate: With all the fanfics out there for this couple, one: which are your favorite (recs?) and two: which sites do you prefer to read/post them on?

quietheartedfsc: ya can’t do that BB…you have to finish D and D…lol

sinadino77: no

pantone462: probably chilly

Gin Akasarahsmom: ’twas

chilly-flame: When in Doubt, Wear Red

jazwriter: see, BB–now you’re not thinking I’m such a great writer since you were actually thinking of QH’s stories1

Gin Akasarahsmom: Small Favors

damelola: I do! It was chilly’s for a porn battle – ‘Score’, is that the name? Miranda draws on Andy’s back with a red fountain pen

damelola: BOOM, I was in.

pantone462: or telanu

quietheartedfsc: for me it was Gin and Like Andrea….I followed her over from FOL.

chilly-flame: omg lola

beachbum3668: *banging head on desk at my stupidity*

chilly-flame: i had no idea!

damelola: have I not told you that before chilly?

chilly-flame: if you did i forgot. that is cool!

wolvie_dk: small favors

chilly-flame: oh i love that one, between l and h

brithna: i can’t remember how i got started but T&M was probably the cement that set me firmly in place

beachbum3668: chilly, I read Truth and Measure on a rainy afternoon and by 10 pm had devoured your Small Favors series as well

Ravenfairy11: omg it’s been too long i can’t remember. But i’m guessing it was probably Chilly’s as well.

Gin Akasarahsmom: totally small favors… the kiss against the door in the conference room at the Mirror… Yum

redheadgrrl1960: For me it was WrittenSword and her stories – then onto Chilly’s and then Telanu.

chilly-flame: wow! i feel very honored@

Gin Akasarahsmom: wow… Five minutes left!

quietheartedfsc: small favors was the next I found and read…hook was totally set then

Gin Akasarahsmom: any last questions?

pantone462: there was my trio fantasticus for long time – chilly – telanu – chainofclovers

chilly-flame: there was a very small catalogue when i started. but i do remember being absolutely destroyed by the lily and the crown

chilly-flame: chainofclovers. i love her stuff so much.

damelola: I think Better Homes and Gardens is my all-time fave
